Who We Are

Love the Lord : Love Others : Magnify the Name of Jesus Christ

That is our mission at the Chapel. Our vision is to glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; to make true disciples throughout all the nations by a commitment to biblically teaching God’s Word; to emphasize the Great Commission through missionary activity and support; to administer the sacraments of the Lord’s Supper and Baptism; to edify believers; to do all that is sovereignly possible and biblically permissible to magnify the name of Jesus.

As a congregation of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, Chapel by the Sea has a long and rich history of holding fast to historical Reformed beliefs and theology. Please click here to see the Purpose and Position Statements of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.

Being Presbyterian means that even though we are always learning about and growing in our faith, we are not revising existing beliefs or inventing new ones as we go along in order to remain “relevant” according to current social and cultural dictates.

We adhere to the Westminster Confession of Faith and Larger and Shorter Catechisms. The Westminster Confession of Faith is a Reformed confession of faith. Drawn up by the 1646 Westminster Assembly as part of the Westminster Standards, it became and remains the secondary or “subordinate” standard of doctrine – the Bible itself being the only infallible rule of faith and practice – among Reformed churches worldwide.

The Westminster Larger and Shorter Catechisms can help Christians, families, and churches enjoy the rich doctrines of Scripture and pursue our chief end to glorify and enjoy God forever. They are also secondary, or “subordinate”, to the Bible which is the only infallible rule of faith and practice.
